Welcome to the Atherton Tablelands incorporating the townships of Yungaburra, Malanda, Milla Milla, Ravenshoe, Herberton, Atherton and Mareeba. Be prepared to see some of the most picturesque scenery in North Queensland. Above all, be prepared for true country hospitality.

Also known as the Cairns Highlands, the Atherton Tablelands is situated in the cool mountains above Cairns and away from the coast’s oppressive humidity. It is a rich farming area and home to rainforests, waterfalls, lakes and rivers. You can take to the sky in a vintage aircraft, in a hot air balloon or cross the jungle treetops in a gondola. You can bush walk, water ski, swim, sail or fish. You can taste our fruits, chocolate, coffee, tea and wines. So much to do…

How to get to the Atherton Tablelands. Access is from three major coastal road links:

  • the Kennedy and Gillies Highways from Cairns
  • the Palmerston Highway from Innisfail
  • It is a seventy-minute drive from both Cairns and Innisfail through rainforest and rolling hills.

Welcome to our home.
